30 x 30 - Day 16

These colombine stand sentinel on my front walk, the only pink among many purple and white. I like the delicacy of these and the wild orange ones in my back yard. I shall attempt to capture seeds from her this fall and actively spread her dominion.

Just before heading out to weed in my garden this evening, I finished A Brave New World. It made for interesting daydreaming as I scrabbled in the earth. I want to spend more time being conscious about what I consume. It struck me the other day, as I was driving alone in my car to a meeting a good 40 minutes away, that there had to be other ways to manage this business that would have less impact on the world. On a comparative scale, I think of myself as at the lower end of consumption from a first world perspective. But I know that I still unconsciously consume more than I need to. Moving back onto the boat in a couple of weeks will help reduce my footprint!

Here is the patch of yard that I worked on... I weeded until it was too dark to see so I haven't got the 'after' shot. Grubby and soothed, I headed back inside to fold the laundry!
