30 x 30 - Day 15
It was a hot muggy day. Brian and I spent a couple of hours prepping the mast (for our 36 foot Catalina sailboat) this evening. We washed and waxed all 56 feet of her. Brian checked all of the wiring. Then we tidied her lines and put her back on the mast rack. We'll actually raise the mast later this week. Then we headed off to dance class. By the time we were done, both of us were sweaty and tired. Although officially the time working on the mast was outside and so counted as my 30x30 for the day, I asked Brian to join me on the front porch for some together time. We each got a bowl of ice cream (the last of the coffee toffee) and settled into the chairs. The quiet darkness settled over us. After several minutes of comfortable silence, as we let go of the day's physical toil, we started to talk. It is these moments of companionable conversation, where one shares the highs and lows of the day, or thoughts of the future, or reactions to world news, that mark for me the pleasures of good company. And good company it was!
