30 x 30 - Day 18 - Sitting on the Dock

This evening I sat out on the dock with mom and dad as dad smoked a cigar. We chatted about the gardens and upcoming projects, and watched the wildlife go by. Our resident mink made an appearance - playing in the bullrushes and then bounding along the cement edge of the waterfront to disappear underneath us. Either one persistent or a collection of several individual painted turtles poked their heads out of the water to watch us. A gaggle of year old goslings squawked by overhead, apparently they fly by every evening at about the same time. A beaver swam past, scoping the water's edge for snack food. It was a glorious way to spend an hour at the end of the day. Who knows what else we might have seen if we hadn't been driven inside by the mosquitoes.

Today was also Bday at the Rice Household. The Rice family became Beekeepers. And if you'd like to read about it, you'll have to visit http://chandrasbees.blogspot.ca/.  Ah the fussy details of capturing one's activities in separate spaces. *grin*
